Bruce Vlk
Deputy Director of Programs

Bruce Vlk is the deputy director of programs for the University of Virginia Center for Politics. He is responsible for coordinating and marketing the Center's annual conferences, guest speakers and outreach activities. Some of these include the 10th Annual American Democracy Conference, The Presidency Reconsidered and the annual student voter registration effort.

Prior to coming to the University, Bruce worked in Virginia government as a public relations specialist for the Department of Social Services and earlier as an investigator for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He earned his B.A. in Government and Politics with a minor in Public Policy & Management from George Mason University. In 1998, he studied Czech politics and government at Charles University in Prague. Bruce is currently a part-time M.P.A. student at James Madison University.

Bruce also serves as an appointed member to two boards in rural Nelson County (Virginia).
